Beaufort County

Beaufort County voted 9-1 on December 11th, 2006 to approve a smoke-free ordinance for indoor workplaces, including bars and restaurants which began on January 10th, 2007. Two municipalities in the county also approved smoke-free workplace ordinances:

• Town of Blufton voted 3-2 on December 12th, 2006
• Town of Hilton Head Island voted 8-0 on February 6th, 2007

All three of these ordinances are now in effect.
